Turn it up – music students’ Roadmender shows given a Blackstar boost

21.12.2017Popular Music students from the University of Northampton will be using the same gig equipment as some of the leading names in the industry.
Music equipment dealer, PMT, has brokered a sponsorship deal which will see students use Blackstar Amplification products for their March live shows at legendary Northampton live venue, The Roadmender.
Northampton firm Blackstar is the supplier of choice to a raft of musicians, including Anthrax, Sex Pistols, Manic Street Preachers, Richard Hawley, Mogwai, Bob Mould, The Horrors, Iggy and The Stooges, Bootsy Collins, The Charlatans, Alice Cooper, The Strokes, ZZ Top, Echo and The Bunnymen, and Wolf Alice.
Jasmine Shadrack, Senior Lecturer in Popular Music, said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have been able to secure this new sponsorship with PMT and Blackstar Amplification.
“Blackstar are not only incredible amps, but they are also from Northampton. Forging strong business links with our neighbours is very important and we are excited at the prospect of working together – here’s to a loud future!
Blackstar’s head of marketing, Joel Richardson, said: “Music education is the lifeblood of the music industry, and Blackstar are delighted to support the University of Northampton through one of our flagship dealers, PMT.”
