Robyn focuses on fashion and eating disorders for documentary project

Does the fashion industry, social media and images of perfect bodies in the press fuel eating disorders in young women?

That was the question University of Northampton Multimedia Journalism student, Robyn Maycock, attempted to answer in a new documentary.

You can watch the final year undergraduate’s documentary, Under Pressure, below.

In the programme, which forms part of Robyn’s course assessment, she speaks to the University’s Head of Fashion, Dr Julie King, plus a young woman who began suffering from an eating disorder in her early teens.

She also gains an insight into how young people are supported by the Positive Youth Foundation, in Robyn’s home city of Coventry, and a body image expert from St Andrew’s Healthcare, in Northampton.
