UON in the news: 14-20 June

Fashion student Radka Blazickova, pictured, appeared on ITV Anglia News on Monday, after creating a collection made from plastic bottles. The story was repeated on Central News the following day.

Product Design student, Josh Taylor, has come up with an ingenious solution to the problem of ‘text neck’, which affects mobile phone users. His story was covered by the Coventry Telegraph and Chronicle & Echo.

Our Senior Lecturer in Journalism, Kate Ironside, has been in demand with the press this week, as the race to become the next Prime Minister hots up.

She appeared on BBC Radio Coventry & Warwickshire on Tuesday (starts 2h 10m), plus BBC Radio London (2h 40m) and BBC Radio 3 Counties on Monday (1h 19m). Kate was also on BBC Radio 5 Live last Thursday (7m 30s).

Digital Northampton’s Merged Futures event at Waterside was featured by the Chronicle & Echo.

Footwear student, Jo Allen, was in the Chronicle & Echo after making boots with carving knives for heels in a response to organised crime in her hometown.
