  • Registered Mental Health Nurse. Have completed the MSc in Practice Education and Stage 4 NMC Teacher qualification. I hold a Doctorate in Professional Practice and I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Practice Development -Mental Health and Admissions Lead for mental Health Nursing.

    I Joined the University Mental Health Pre-registration nursing team in 2019 and support the wider pre-registration nursing team and AHP’s with teaching, skills development, and simulation.  Facilitating the delivery of a one- day training course of Suicide First AID. Delivering BSc Top degree research modules to diploma qualified registered healthcare practitioners. I also deliver Post Graduate teaching and assessments on the MSc Practice Education Modules.

    Have a background in forensic mental health and have worked in medium secure mental health services at St Andrew’s Healthcare predominately with Women of working age with mental health issues, personality disorders and eating disorders, who also have forensic histories.  Worked within Healthcare Governance, predominately within Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit.

    Worked within Academic Department at St Andrew’s Healthcare  for 7 years supporting pre -reg students in practice and delivering Level 4 Mental health Modules to healthcare assistants and Level BSc Top Degree modules to Qualified nurses who wish to top up to degree level as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Practice.
