Emily qualified as a midwife from University of Nottingham with a first class honours degree in 2015. Following qualification, she worked as a rotational midwife within a tertiary maternity unit. Emily became interested in healthcare research and undertook a research midwifery role alongside her clinical commitments in 2017.
Emily’s main interests lie in perinatal mental health, improving quality of care, reducing iatrogenesis and the complications of pregnancy.
Emily joined the Midwifery lecturing team at University of Northampton in 2019.
Emily is currently undertaking The Examination of the Newborn course at University of Northampton.
