The University of Northampton provides a wide range of research support to cover the entire research lifecycle for both the established researcher and the graduate student. Support includes funding opportunities, post and pre-award grant funding, project and contractual advice, governance and open research. Research development and training is provided at all levels, including copyright, maximising impact of research and research data management.

The Research and Innovation Funding Support Service (RIFS) provides support for funding, grant applications and projects for University research staff. As a central team we oversee the internal bidding processes, our professional support and advice will benefit the researcher develop a stronger competitive funding application and ensure that everything is in order before submitting to funding bodies. RIFS can also support collaborations across the University that could strengthen your grant application. Whatever kind of funding staff are looking to access and whatever kind of project is in mind, the team are here to help. RIFS team can be as hands-on as you need, whether it is just few quick questions, a first funding application, or unsure where to start, RIFS team is here to support our university research community.

The Research Support Team provides training and resources to support all staff and students. They are responsible for the management of the Universities current research information system, that publicly showcases the research and research activities of the University and oversee the Universities submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Providing a wide range of resources and training including metrics, open access, referencing and digital preservation. Our library guides contain bite sized information on all areas of research support.
