Amanda qualified in 1996 from Sir Gordon Roberts College of Nursing and Midwifery as an Adult Nurse. Amanda worked in Acute Surgery until September 2000 before moving to work in Intensive Care. Amanda joined the MKUH Practice Education Team in 2009 as a Resuscitation Officer. Working within Practice Education sparked Amanda’s interest in teaching, it was during this time that Amanda became an Advanced Life Support Instructor, SAGE & THYME facilitator and was involved in many other programmes of teaching at the hospital.
In 2018 Amanda took up the post of Learning Environment Lead and went on to complete a Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Practice Education. Amanda is also completed a Level 7 Professional Nurse Advocate qualification.
Amanda left the NHS in September of 2022 to join the University as an Associate Lecturer and work clinically in a community Rapid Response team before joining the University full time in May 2023.
Amanda continues to facilitate as an instructor on Advanced Life Support courses.
