New editorial roles for two UON academics

Two academics from the University’s Faculty of Business and Law have been appointed to the editorial boards of leading business and management journals.

Shaowei He, Associate Professor in International Business and Director of the China and Emerging Economies Centre (CEEC), has joined the International Journal of Emerging Markets, as Senior Editor, and Qi Ai, Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management and a CEEC member, has been appointed as Senior Editor for Management and Organization Review. Both journals focus on advancing management and organization research with a contextual focus on China and other transforming economies, an area where the Faculty of Business and Law have significant research expertise.

Shaowei He, upon the appointment, said: “The International Journal of Emerging Markets is one of the most well-respected academic resources following the theoretical and empirical research on emerging markets, I’m delighted to have been appointed of such an influential academic journal. This is a recognition of the increasing research strength of the University and CEEC. I look forward to taking advantage of the appointment to further enhance the university’s research reputation.”

Speaking about the appointment to the Management and Organization Review (MOR), Qi Ai said: “It is an honour to take up the role of Senior Editor of MOR, a premier journal for new and ground-breaking insights about management and organizations in the Chinese context and global comparative contexts.  This is an indication of the fast-growing research reputation of UON.”
