Grad Sam stars in football TV drama trailer

Date 28.07.2021

The trailer for a new football television drama starring a University of Northampton graduate has been released.

Acting for Contemporary & Devised Performance graduate, Sam Brown, plays a lead role in forthcoming footy series, The Window, which is due to hit the small screen worldwide in 2021.

Sam was cast to play Jordan, an up-and-coming young footballer from Merseyside, who tries to navigate his way through the murky world of the billion-pound industry.

The 10-part series was filmed on location in Belgium, the UK and Malta in 2020, with the crew having to contend with Covid-19 restrictions – read more about that here.

Sam, who has also appeared in Netflix hit, Sex Education, since graduating in 2019, said: “It feels amazing getting to finally see the trailer. It’s been nearly a year since we wrapped filming and this has been my first time getting to see any of our work. It was a big nostalgia trip, it brought back so many lovely memories of filming.

“It was great getting to see it but it felt even better that I could finally show people what I’d been working on all this time. My family and friends have been dying to see it – It’s been so long I feel like a lot of them thought I was lying about it all!”

Sam, whose stage name is Samuel Jordan, added: “The reaction has been way better than I ever imagined. Everyone has been so lovely about it and they all genuinely seem excited for it to come out. The response has been great from not only my friends and family but from my friends in the industry. Hopefully it’ll be as well received when the show comes out, later this year.”

Sam’s feet haven’t touched the ground since graduating, and he’s now working on a new project – although he’s remaining tight-lipped when it comes to details.

He said: “I’ve been working on something pretty special since March. I wish I could share with you what it is but I’m not allowed to yet. I think it might just be the biggest thing I’ll ever work on.”
