Kuziya’s dissertation looked at the substantial topics of ecocide, climate change and sustainability through a lens on international environmental law as applied to corporate bodies. It would have been easy for a dissertation on these topics of global importance to have become merely a surface-level piece of work, but Kuziya’s skill was to combine brevity and depth.

His work was exceptionally well researched and written in a clear, concise, academic and engaging style. The material was well-presented and the arguments and analysis were strong throughout. As a dissertation student, Kuziya was exceptional. He attended every meeting not as an opportunity to passively receive feedback, but as an active session for discussion and development of ideas. Kuziya was an absolute pleasure to supervise, and to work with across the year. He undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him, and he is fully deserving of this award.
