Olivia Liddington: What is Varsity?

14.03.2023Varsity is an annual event you don’t want to miss; current student Olivia shares her experiences of Varsity, including what to expect.
Varsity is an annual day long event where the University of Northampton competes against Bedford University in sports for the winner’s trophy.
The day consists of games from a wide range of sports like Rugby, Netball, Cheerleading, Basketball, Football and much more.
Varsity is a great opportunity to meet new like-minded people and get a full university experience.
Last year, I was on the Cheerleading competition team & showcased our routine. I had such a great time showing off my skills in front of my friends and fellow students.
After the performance, we cheered on other sports teams & celebrated their winnings with them. I took this opportunity to watch the other sports and build friendships with other sports team members.
With a day filled with an exciting atmosphere, competitive games & unforgettable memories, this is an event you do not want to miss!
Olivia Liddington is in the third year of a Marketing degree. She is a member of the Cheerleading Society and represented the UON Cheerleading team in last year's Varsity event.
