I discovered my passion for Events Management at an early age. My auntie was in the field as an Event Manager herself, so this gave me vital exposure to what it would be like to work in the events industry. I felt inspired by my auntie, the variety each day offered, the different places she visited, as well as the opportunity to travel and all the people I could meet.
The one piece of advice I’d offer is first and foremost, without doubt, do a placement year. You never know where it will take you! The year flies by and it absolutely sets you up miles ahead of your peers for not only your final year of studies, but for your future as an Events Manager.
After successfully completing my BA in Events Management with First Class honours, my second biggest career highlight has been working my way up from a placement student to Managing Director in a matter of seven years.
Other key points in my career to date include running my first successful event as a placement student and the sense of pride that came with that, planning an event at which Prince William was a speaker and, of course and most importantly, finding a career that I genuinely love.
