NBS student is all ears for Disney!

Date 18.12.2015

Congratulations to Joanna Weston, a second year BA (Hons) Human Resource Management student, who recently impressed Disney with her initiative, enthusiasm and interest in their organisation at our ‘Meet the Employer’ day. Disney awarded Joanna won a super-sized Minnie Mouse at the event.

The event allowed both undergraduate and postgraduate students to meet face-to-face with employers to discuss how they can be successful in securing placement year positions and other opportunities after university. It also gave employers the chance to promote their organisation to the next generation of graduates and share their success stories, both as professionals within their field of work and their organisation as a whole.

Claire Corkram, Employer Engagement Co-ordinator said:  “These events are a great opportunity for the Business School to showcase our students to future employers whilst equipping students with valuable insights and knowledge to help them succeed. Our students are very conscious that they need relevant work experience as well as a good degree when they graduate and events like these allow us to bring both parties together; they are always very well received.”

The University of Northampton is committed to ensuring students are well-prepared for graduate-level work after university. For the past three years, 96 per cent* of our graduates from full-time courses were in employment or full time student within six months of completing their course.

If you have a placement year opportunity and are interested in attending a future event, please contact Claire Corkram on claire.corkram@northampton.ac.uk or 01604 893579.
