A round up of media coverage over the past week about the University, our graduates, staff and students.

ITV Anglia News came to campus recently (pictured) to report on a novel skills workshop for business leaders using Lego bricks (watch again link has expired).

Deputy Head of Education Dr Nicola Preston appeared on the Teacher’s Talk Radio podcast. She discussed the role of restorative practices in schools, the wider use of the restorative framework and her professional and academic background. Listen again.

Associate Professor Dr Alison Ward recently revealed the findings of research between the universities of Northampton and Derby about how creative practice, such as writing a play, enhanced the bonds between people with dementia and their carers. The news was reported on the Chamber UK website.

The Hindu and Decca Chronicle report that Professor Emeritus of Inclusive Education Richard Rose was one of the keynote speakers at the LEARN 2024 conference on inclusion and empowerment of neurodiverse children. He was followed by two UON graduates who presented about their research. Another UON graduate – Dr Sulata Ajit – was one of the main convenors of the event.

Clare Drakeley, Senior Lecturer in Events Management, will lead a session about ‘When Things Go Wrong’ at the Event Buyers Live event in November. She’s quoted in Stand Out Magazine.

Corby-based company See Limited has become the latest county business to join the Northampton Sustainability Accord, a research and knowledge exchange hub made up of organisations working to reduce their carbon footprint. The news was reported by All Things Business and the Northants Telegraph.
