  3. Stefan Gant

  • Stefan is a practicing artist and has exhibited both nationally and internationally. He works within the field of drawing, exploring where it intersects with digital technology. He was a finalist in high-profile competitions as the Jerwood Drawing Prize (2007, 2010, 2012) and recently a prize winner at the Lumen Prize, 2019 (Global award for Art and Technology). Stefan teaches on the studio-based modules.

  • Stefan’s research activities explore contemporary drawing within a phygital (physical and digital) context. He is currently artist in residence with the School of Archaeology, University of Oxford (2019-2023), based at Blenheim Palace in collaboration with spatial archaeologist, Dr John Pouncett. He was formerly artist in residence at an archaeological excavation site in Bodfari, north Wales in collaboration with YBA, Simon Callery and archaeologist, Professor Gary Lock, University of Oxford (2013-2018).
