Employability Week just the job for UN students and graduates

Date 11.11.2015

Undergraduates and graduates from the University of Northampton will have the opportunity to network with more than 150 employers next week.

The University’s Employability Week, which runs from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October, offers both undergraduates and graduates the chance to meet employers from a variety of industries and find out about career opportunities.

Two flagship events are planned for the week – the Employability Fair and Graduate Fair – which will be some of the biggest recruitment events to ever be held on campus.

The Employability Fair, on Tuesday 20 October, is focused on developing experience whilst studying, showcasing volunteering roles and projects, internships, placements and part-time work.

The Graduate Fair, on Wednesday 21 October, will showcase graduate schemes and roles as well as further training opportunities to final year students, alumni and first/second year students looking to explore their future options.

There will also be CV-writing master classes, careers talks, a special Science and Technology Employability Fair and a host of other events.

A full timetable of events for the week, which has been organised by the University’s Changemaker Hub, can be seen below.

Wray Irwin, head of  UCEE which delivers the Changemaker Hub, said: “The University of Northampton is internationally recognised for its commitment to employability, with 96% of our graduates employed or completing further studies within six months of graduating.*

“Over time, our employability fairs have allowed us to develop new relationships with key employers, allowing us to offer the very best possible networking and developmental experience for our students and graduates.”

The Changemaker Hub is encouraging University staff to promote the week to students and would welcome lecture/seminar groups attending the fairs as part of their timetabled. If you would like to attend with your student group please email changemakerhub@northampton.ac.uk so your entry can be fast-tracked on the day to save delays.

Students can book onto any event by contacting changemakerhub@northampton.ac.uk or 01604 892727.
