UN Student Ambassadors to support CoppaFeel! with Cobblers shirts
Date 12.11.2015
12.11.2015The University of Northampton’s team of Student Ambassadors – current students who represent the University at Open Days and other events – are swapping their green hoodies for the new bright pink Northampton Town away kits, to show support for the Coopafeel! breast cancer charity.
Northampton Town Football Club‘s vibrant pink shirts – which carry the University of Northampton logo on the front – have come from a collaboration with the CoppaFeel! breast cancer charity, and a percentage of the shirts’ sales will be donated to CoppaFeel!.
CoppaFeel! exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their boobs isn’t only fun, it can be life saving. They were the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life. The charity was started up by a former University of Northampton student, Kristin Hallenga, who studied HND Travel and Tourism. Inspirational Kristin set up the charity while undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, and now works tirelessly despite her illness to raise the profile of the disease and get teenagers and twentysomethings checking their breasts.
Deborah Mattock, the University’s Director of HR and Marketing, commented: “The University is delighted to be able to support initiatives which raising awareness for breast cancer. It’s great to be doing this in conjunction with our local football club. Our student ambassadors love the new pink look and they will certainly stand out at our Open Day events.”
The University of Northampton has sponsored Northampton Town Football Club since 2013, and the partnership allows us offer unique and exclusive opportunities to students in the world of professional football, football management and supporting areas.
