University to host Northamptonshire Healthy Workplace Conference

Over 120 employers, policy makers and people working in public health will be visiting the University next month for the Northamptonshire Healthy Workplace Conference 2016.

The one day conference, organised by the University’s Institute of Health and Wellbeing and the Public Health Action Support Team (PHAST), will highlight will highlight the work that organisations across the country are doing in order to make the working-age people of Northamptonshire more resilient, happier and healthier.

The NHS, Northamptonshire County Council, the University and private companies and third sector charities are all working collaboratively on a Healthy Workplace programme, which aims to improve workers’ health and wellbeing throughout Northamptonshire. The programme hopes to lower staff turnover, reduce sickness absence and boost morale across the county’s workforce.

The conference – to be held at the University on Thursday 15 September – will feature keynote lectures from Chief Executive of Public Health England, Duncan Selbie, and Dame Carol Black, senior Government Advisor on Workplace Health, who will both share the national perspective.
