Thumbs up for University of Northampton’s nursing courses as student satisfaction levels revealed
Date 21.09.2016
21.09.2016Nursing students at the University of Northampton are some of the most satisfied nursing students in the country. The University of Northampton – which teaches adult, child, mental health and learning disability nursing – has come ninth in a Nursing Times poll when compared to 54 other universities in England.
For their poll, Nursing Times analysed the course-level results of this year’s National Student Survey for nursing courses, and using their methodology found that 92% of Northampton nursing students are satisfied with their courses.
Cindy O’Dell, Senior Lecturer in Nursing, commented: “This score reflects our Being Brilliant Positive psychology initiative which our nursing programme has adopted. We offer a strong student support mechanism which reflects the principles of our Being Brilliant programme.“
The 2016 National Student Survey – now in its eleventh year – was published earlier this month. The annual survey was conducted by Ipsos MORI and funded by the National College of Teaching and Leadership, Health Education England and the four UK higher education funding bodies – the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland.
