Jamie & Co aim for Christmas number one

Date 30.11.2016

A music student from the University of Northampton is one of the brains behind an audacious bid for the Christmas number one single spot.

Second year Popular Music student, Jamie Hyde, has been undertaking work experience with Northampton-based film-making social enterprise, Screen Northants, which has just produced a trailer for musical film Veto’d.

The trailer, which starred around 30 of Jamie’s fellow students, features the song, Let Me Introduce Myself, which Screen Northants is now releasing in time for the battle for the festive number one spot.

Jamie said: “Screen Northants needs funding to be able to make the feature film, and so I suggested we could raise more by releasing Let Me Introduce Myself as a single.

“It’s the perfect way to not only promote the film, but also raise money for it. Everybody jumped on the idea that it could combat the usual X-Factor number one, if we got enough downloads.”

You can watch the trailer featuring Let Me Introduce Myself here:

The song was written and recorded by Suzanna and Dan Storey, who run Storey Studios, in Northampton.

You can pre-order Let Me Introduce Myself from iTunes.
