The Chancellor of the University of Northampton is shortlisted for a Dods Parliamentary Award

​The University of Northampton is pleased to announce that its Chancellor, Baroness Falkner of Margravine, has been shortlisted in the International Campaigner of the Year category for the inaugural Dods Parliamentary Awards.

The award recognises an MP or peer whose work on international issues has been outstanding in the past year.Baroness Falkner has raised awareness of the atrocities children in Syria face, as well as campaigning for liberal values in Egypt as the country moves towards democracy.

Baroness Falkner commented: “It’s an honour to be shortlisted for this award and I am delighted that my work has been recognised by Dods. As Chancellor of the University of Northampton, it’s great to see that my own work is supported by the ethos of the University through its dedication and commitment to creating socially responsible leaders of the future.”

The Dods Parliamentary Awards will take place at the Intercontine​ntal Hotel in Westminster on Tuesday 28 January 2014. Those on the shortlist for each of the 16 categories have been nominated by the Westminster Village and the winner will be voted for by their fellow MPs and peers.
