UN wins grant for a staff exchange opportunity with a Vietnamese university

​​​The University of Northampton’s Institute for Social Innovation and Impact (ISII), in partnership with the Centre for Economic Development Studies (CEDS) from the Vietnam National University Hanoi, has recently won a British Academy Newton Mobility Grant worth nearly £10,000.

The Grant will provide funding for the exchange of research staff between the two countries as part of a research study into social entrepreneurship, social impact and social value creation in the UK and Vietnam.

The research project will commence in September 2015 and forms the first partnership project between ISII and CEDS. It is led by Dr Richard Hazenberg from the ISII and Dr Pham Vu Thang from CEDS as part of a new partnership between the two Centres.

Speaking about the successful application, Dr Hazenberg commented: “It is very exciting to have secured this funding from the British Academy, which is testament to the hard work of staff from both CEDS and ISII in developing a high-quality proposal. We are very much looking forward to starting the research in September and to welcoming the Vietnamese team over to the UK. This marks the beginning of what we believe will be an enduring and fruitful relationship between CEDS and ISII.”
