International literary conference hits the national headlines
Date 16.11.2015
16.11.2015A major international literary conference to be held at the University of Northampton has made the back page of The Times Literary Supplement (TLS).
The University’s School of The Arts will be hosting an international conference on novelist, critic and animal rights activist, Brigid Brophy, on October 9 and 10 2015.
News of the conference has reached the TLS, which devotes several column inches to it, and Brophy’s forthright reviewing style, in its popular NB section of the July 10 edition.
Convened to mark the 20th anniversary of Brophy’s death, the conference promises to be a major event, with a number of prestigious speakers already confirmed including Professor Philip Hensher (Bath Spa University), Kate Levey (daughter of Michael Levey and Brigid Brophy), the animal rights activist Richard Ryder, literary biographer and critic Peter Parker, and Dr Robert Mckay (The University of Sheffield).
