Industry award for Goodwill Solutions’ managing director

​​The managing director of a social enterprise that is supported by the University of Northampton has won a prestigious industry award.

Mike Britton, of Northampton-based social enterprise Goodwill Solutions CIC, has won the Entrepreneur of The Year award for the Midlands Region at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Awards held at Birmingham Town Hall on 16 June 2015.

Goodwill Solutions CIC offers bespoke logistics and warehousing solutions to retailers and global manufacturers. It uses the infrastructure and surpluses generated to run back-to-work courses for ex-military with post-traumatic stress disorder, ex-offenders, and other disadvantaged individuals.

The Entrepreneur of The Year awards support Ernst & Young’s overall commitment to Entrepreneurship and recognise individuals who are generators of new ideas who have successfully developed these in to thriving businesses.

This award recognises the innovative approach to the creation of a new social model business.

Mike said: “I am pleased to receive this award on behalf of all employees, partners, investors and supporters of Goodwill Solutions who have shown their commitment to bring equality to disadvantaged people, and to change the world. In 50 years’ time, all businesses will need to be social businesses.”
