Date 16.11.2015
16.11.2015A University of Northampton employee has been recognised for his significant contribution to the institution with a prestigious Court Award.
Head of Residential Life, Ben Miles, was presented with the award on Friday 12 June.
The Court Award has been awarded each year since 1995 and is traditionally presented at Court, a termly meeting which brings together people who have an interest in the life and work of the University.
Ben used his acceptance speech to highlight the influence of his former colleague James Pope, a Court Award recipient in 2009 who sadly died last year.
Ben said: “James was an inspirational person to me and a true leader and I want to thank him for all the support and guidance he gave me. He’s missed by so many people here.”
He added: “It would be impossible to carry out my job without the support of everybody at the University, across all services and departments, both staff and students, but I would like to say thank you for the recognition.”
Ben is pictured being presented with the award by the University’s Pro Chancellor, David Laing.
