Professor Nick Petford considers the World’s Worst Natural Disasters in TV documentary

16.11.2015The University of Northampton’s Vice Chancellor Nick Petford will present one of the most significant natural disasters of all time, in a TV documentary which airs on More4 at 9pm this Wednesday.
The programme, entitled World’s Worst Natural Disasters will list the world’s top ten most significant natural catastrophes, revealing the key moments that turned natural phenomena into disasters.
The documentary has been made using eyewitness video, historical archives and cutting-edge CGI, and the list features deadly tsunamis, tornados, volcanos, earthquakes and diseases. Professor Petford, a leading Volcanologist, will introduce the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa.
Professor Petford is no stranger to television, having previously featured in BBC documentary Krakatoa Revealed, and Channel 4’s 2010 programme The Volcano That Stopped Britain.
