University of Northampton appoints new Head of Procurement

16.11.2015We are delighted to announce that Steve Booker has joined the University of Northampton as Head of Procurement.
Steve brings with him 25 years of procurement leadership and stakeholder management experience, gained within world recognised brands including The Body Shop, Dixons Stores Group and Monsoon/Accessorize.
Immediately prior to joining us Steve successfully completed a series of high value, client led procurement initiatives for Rolls Royce, EDF Energy (Nuclear), Tata Steel and Ministry of Defence.
Steve’s professional education includes MCIPS status and he is currently completing his MSc in Procurement. He has also successfully taken two plc businesses through the highly acclaimed Corporate CIPS accreditation.
Working within the Finance team, Steve is functionally accountable for the design, implementation and continuous evolution of the University’s Procurement Strategy, to include supplier selection and contractual control to ensure we achieve value for money across our operational activities.
Steve lives in Northampton with his partner Samantha McKay (who works in our Student Administration Team) and their two boys Archie and Max.
