    Description: This module will encourage students to integrate their knowledge of physiology and function and to assess the impact of changing external conditions on animal life. The central role of body communication systems will be evaluated in relation to behaviour control and stress. Implications of practical animal management will be reviewed.

    Description: This module is designed develop students' understanding of the basis of horse behaviour and apply this knowledge to the development of equine management systems. Equine training methods will be evaluated and individual differences in horse behaviour will be investigated and related to suitability for purpose. The causes, treatment and prevention of abnormal behaviour in the horse will also be discussed. Students will also develop the skills required for competent behaviour sampling and recording.
