    Description: The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the complexity involved within neurological assessment and management. Through critical exploration of the evidence base and the biopsychosocial factors influencing patient-centered care, students will develop a clinically reasoned approach to the assessment and management of individuals presenting with neurological conditions.The module aims to provide the student with the knowledge and skill level in preparation for their first clinical placement, with an emphasis on their consideration of a patient-centered and critically evaluated synthesis of research into practice approach.

    Description: The purpose of this module is for students to apply anatomical and physiological knowledge in a problem-based approach to the assessment and intervention/management of cardio-respiratory conditions. Students will critically review and justify the approaches to contemporary physiotherapy management for a patient requiring acute and longer-term management. A strong emphasis on the synthesis of research into practice will be applied to cardio-respiratory physiotherapy.

    Description: The module provides an opportunity for student?s to acquire and critically evaluate appropriate evidence and data to produce a dissertation. Through critical reflection and application of knowledge, concepts, and research techniques to an identified professional question or problem student?s will make recommendations to improve professional practice. Students are required to identify an area of current practice and to identify potential developments using recognised techniques from health an social care (i.e. audit, evaluation or primary research). Where relevant, this project can be tailored to address service/employer priorities. This module develops project specific skills relevant to the method of inquiry selected. The module will develop the student's ability to work independently and facilitate the development of research focussed professional practitioners.
