The face-to-face enrolment session is the process which formally makes you a student at the University of Northampton. For your enrolment to go smoothly, there are a few things you need to do before you arrive.
Please ensure you have read and replied to any emails from the University. This is because there may be some queries from the admissions or finance teams which need to be taken care of before you can enrol. If you arrive at your enrolment session without dealing with these queries first, you will unfortunately have sanctions and will have to see admissions or finance on the day of your enrolment to resolve them.
There are also several things which you should bring with you when you attend your enrolment session. Firstly, you’ll need some form of ID, preferably a passport or driving licence. If you’re an international student, it’s also very important that you bring your passport along with you, as well as a BRP card, which you can pick up from the Post Office, and your Decision Letter from the Home Office if you have one.
You can book your face-to-face enrolment slot with this Enrolment Booking Form.
It would also be helpful for you to have the following personal details on hand when you arrive:
- your student ID number, which will be in an email from the University
- your permanent home address
- a phone number which works in the UK
- the address you will be living at during your studies
- the phone number of two emergency contacts who live in the UK, such as close friends or family
- your email address
Being able to provide us with this information will ensure that we can check that all of the information on your record is correct and hand you your student ID as quickly as possible. Your card will be in a red cardholder and lanyard and must be worn at all times when you are on campus for security reasons. It must also be worn for practical reasons, as your student ID card will allow you to access certain parts of the campus, such as the upper levels.
Once you’re an enrolled student and have your ID card, you’ll be able to set up your NILE account (the Northampton Integrated Learning Environment). This is the portal where you’ll submit your assignments and will include useful information about your course and your personal tutor. Finally, if you’re eligible for a laptop as part of our student perks package, you’ll have the opportunity to collect this.
If you’re enrolling during Welcome Weekend, which takes place on 14 and 15 September, you’ll find stands which are useful for students, including benefit laptop collection, the student’s union, student societies, financial guidance and even a petting zoo on the 14th. So make sure you pay the Learning Hub a visit, as you don’t want to miss out.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at enrolment@northampton.ac.uk and we’ll be happy to help.
We look forward to seeing you!
