Christmas in Northampton
With Christmas time vastly approaching, we have compiled a list of some events and activities taking place during the festive period. From festive treats to the annual Christmas light switch on, there is something for every student to enjoy.
Christmas Winter Light Trail – 22 November until 31 December
The annual winter light trail is back at Delapre Abbey. Guests can expect a festive array of light displays featured around the trail alongside festive music and plenty of photo opportunities. There will also be an Apres ski lodge bar & chalets, local food vendors and marshmallow toasting. Tickets start at £17.50 and can be purchased from the Delapre Abbey website.
Christmas Light Switch On – 23 November
Experience an evening of free festive fun at the newly renovated Market Square. There will be live stage entertainment, various community stalls, festive workshops & activities, and food from local vendors. The light switch on will take place at 5pm.
Abington Christmas Fair – 23 and 24 November
Finding the perfect gift doesn’t have to be difficult, why not visit the Abington Christmas Fair to support and shop local. You can expect a variety of stalls from local small businesses and plenty of festive snacks. Pop down from 11am until 4pm.
Delapre Abbey Christmas Market – 23 and 24 November
From 10am to 6pm, guests enjoy a variety of Christmas themed stalls, crafts and activities at Delapre Abbey. There will be an opportunity for Christmas shopping, live music, and plenty of food and drink vendors. It is a great event to find handcrafted, unique gifts for your friends and family.
Cinderella Theatre Show – 6 until 31 December
Get into the festive spirit with a delightful Christmas theatre show at the Royal and Derngate venue. This year Cinderella is the festive pantomime taking place across the month of December. Tickets can be purchased from the Royal and Derngate website.
Winter Wonderland – 7 December
Ice skating, hot chocolate, fun fair rides, festive activities and stalls are just a few things you can expect to see at Northampton’s Winter Wonderland at Becket’s Park. From 12pm till 6pm guests can immerse themselves in a day of festive cheer.
