Why I chose the £500 catering credit for my student perk at UON

What are the student perks available?
Full-time UK students at UON are entitled to one of the three student perks:
- Accommodation discounts
- a free laptop that you can keep even after you finish your studies or,
- £500 catering credit to be used at any UON catering outlet on campus
My Chosen Perk
I chose the £500 catering credit for my student perk as I love the variation of food that is available, and it is ultimately very delicious! It also means I don’t have to worry about paying for my lunch everyday as it is already covered by the catering credit!

The Benefits of the catering credit perk
Above you can see an image of my favourite lunch to get at ‘The Market’ using my catering credit (Chicken bites, chips, beans and a Lipton peach iced tea!). I look forward to getting my lunch on campus knowing I don’t have to pay for it and that the catering credit will cover the costs for a while as the food is reasonably priced anyway.

The reason why I didn’t choose one of the other perks is because I already own a laptop, and I commute from home to uni so I wouldn’t need the accommodation discount. Therefore, I thought that the catering credit was the best option for me! I was also thrilled to find out that the catering credit was an option as a perk as I loved the food when visiting UON for open days and experience days!
