Staff Profile

  • Dawn was a student at Northampton University where she retrained to become a Social Worker. After working for a mental health charity, initially as a Mental Health Community Practitioner progressing to Professional Practice & Training Lead, Dawn joined the University Social Work Team in 2020 as a Social Work Lecturer and Placement Visiting Tutor.

    Dawn is also a qualified Practice Educator (first and final placement) and Mental Health First Aid England Instructor.

  • Dawn is responsible for managing mandatory skills days and teaches across both the undergraduate and post graduate social work programmes. On modules such as:

    • An Introduction to Professional Social Work Practice
    • Preparing for Social Work Practice
    • Professional Identity and Transition
    • 70 Day Practice Placement
    • 100 Day Practice Placement
    • Dissertation Tutor    

    Dawn, along with the Placement Team also deliver professional courses and training and is a Professional Mentor Assessor.
