Staff Profile

  • Paul originally graduated as a professional dancer at Laine Theatre Arts conservatoire, gaining a diploma in Professional Theatre training, in addition to an associate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in the Modern branch, achieving a distinction. Thereafter, Paul went on to enjoy a successful career in theatre and TV, including credits in the Royal Variety Performance, VE Day Gala, Top of the Pops and the Brit Awards.  

    In 2006, to strengthen skills in education and training, Paul achieved a Certificate in Education.  

    More recently, Paul gained a Master of Arts in Theatre Directing at Royal Holloway, and he is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  

    Paul’s specialism is movement training for actors, movement direction and choreography.

    • ACT3010 (Module Leader & Lecturer) – Actor’s Body and Movement – Anthropomorphic Transformation and Animal Study  
    • ACT3011 – (Module Leader & Lecturer) Negotiated Project – Dissertation Supervision  
    • ACT4003 – Acting Methodologies – Movement Show Support   
  • Paul is planning to enrol into the 2024 Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) to develop the aspect of practice and research.  

    The goal is then to explore areas of research in non-verbal communication or cultural appreciation in movement.
