Sophie graduated from the University of Northampton with a First-Class Honours degree in Podiatry. She has spent over 8 years working in clinical fields; commencing with completion of a nursing traineeship working within General Medicine, Acute Care and Stroke wards. Working within different wards exposed Sophie to diverse roles, Multidisciplinary Teams and Allied Health Professions. Her Stroke ward rotation facilitated a keen fascination around rehabilitation, biomechanics, mechanical therapies and foot health, pushing her toward Podiatry as a career.
Sophie’s early Podiatry career has involved working primarily within private multi-disciplinary clinics. Sophie has worked alongside the University of Northampton since 2021 and since 2022 as a Specialist Podiatrist at the University of Northampton Podiatry Clinic. As a Specialist Podiatrist at the University of Northampton Sophie lead Mechanical Therapy Lab Insole Manufacturing as part of the BSc Podiatry Clinical Studies Module and acted as a Clinical Educator, during which time she facilitated work experience, placements and supervision for podiatry students or those interested in a podiatric career. Sophie’s role at the University progressed in 2024 with the opportunity to provide more teaching and student-faced learning to 2nd and 3rd Year Podiatry students.
Sophie was offered a lecturer post in 2024 with the University of Northampton, before accepting and commencing the role in 2025.
Sophie is passionate about delivering and facilitating enriching education for students. She is a passionate podiatric practitioner who encourages students to achieve high practical skillsets and their academic goals whilst laying down the foundations for a prosperous, rewarding and successful future within Podiatry.
