What level of English do I need?
If English is not your first language, you will also need to demonstrate that your level of English is adequate to succeed on your course. For Bachelor degrees, you will normally require IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score below 5.5, For Master’s programmes you will normally require IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) with no score below 5.5. Some courses may have different requirements and you should check on the Course Information pages for your chosen programme. See full details of English language equivalences on our English Language Requirements webpage.
What if my qualifications are lower?
If you apply for a Bachelor degree but your qualifications fall below the required level for year 1 entry, we may offer you a 4-year option, including the Integrated Foundation Year.
If your academic qualifications are satisfactory but your English is below the necessary standard we offer Pre-sessional English programmes to prepare you for undergraduate or master’s study.
