Date 13.11.2015
13.11.2015Allan Fraser-Rush, Global Planning Director and Visiting Professor in Marketing Communications at the University of Northampton, received his Honorary Doctorate from the University at this year’s Summer Graduation.
Sally Laurie, Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University presented Allan with his award at the Royal & Derngate during the Ceremony on Tuesday 16 July at 2:30pm.
During his time as Managing Director at TBWA, Allan became involved with the University, initially negotiating for live client projects and acting as a board member ‘judge’ assessing the students’ presentations. His enthusiasm for the projects, and his understanding of the value they bring to both clients and students led to a much more direct involvement at all stages, culminating in his appointment as visiting Professor in Marketing Communications at the University of Northampton.
Allan’s experience working to develop the strategic direction for some of the world’s leading brands – including, amongst others, Volvo, LG, Johnson & Johnson and Coca Cola – gives him a unique wealth of experience which he generously shares with the University.
Allan commented: “I‘m thrilled that the University of Northampton has awarded me this Honorary Doctorate, but it’s not only mine, it’s a reflection of all the other people who put in the hard work, and the opportunity the University provides people like me from the industry to come in and show the students a bit of the real world and hopefully that puts a them in a better position.”
Over 3,000 students will be graduating from the University of Northampton this summer, 2,000 of which will be celebrating with family members and friends at the annual Summer Graduation ceremonies over the course of this week: Tuesday 16 July to Friday 19 July
