Deputy VC Shân pays tribute to UON’s resilient students and staff

The University of Northampton’s Deputy Vice Chancellor has praised students and staff for their resilience during the coronavirus pandemic.

Professor Shân Wareing is the latest senior figure from the University to be interviewed by NLive Radio.

In the interview with station manager, Martin Steers, Shân talked about the challenges of working through lockdown and the return to teaching in September.

Shân said: “Students and staff have shown amazing resilience. I’ve been really impressed with how much people have collaborated, and I think that’s been the secret to solving a lot of the issues that we’ve had to deal with.”

Looking ahead to the new academic year, she said: “We’ll be open for teaching and as many other activities as we can at a social distance. We’ll be able to promise all students face-to-face contact, but because of social distancing we will be supplementing it with online learning and teaching.”
