16.12.2021Otolo, an online mentoring platform, have crowned the University of Northampton’s Events, Tourism, and Hospitality team The Leading Partner at their recent Mentoring Awards.
The Events, Tourism, and Hospitality industries have felt the impact of the pandemic, with forced shutdowns, skills, staffing, and confidence challenge like never before. To support a future built on creative thinking, skills, and resilience, the Events, Tourism, and Hospitality team joined forces with Otolo to give University of Northampton students and graduates access to industry experts and mentors from across the sector.
Speaking about the award for the University of Northampton team, Otolo Founder James Lemon said: “The University of Northampton is one of our largest communities on Otolo and is heavily championed by both course leaders and students. It was a no-brainer to present them with The Leading Partner Award during our 2022 Mentoring Awards, their continual contribution, community spirit and breadth of hospitality they cover is amazing and really inspiring.”
Claire Leer, Senior Lecturer in Events Management and Tourism, said: “The team is absolutely thrilled to have received this award in recognition of the way we work to educate, upskill and inspire our students and the sector we are passionate about. Blending regular industry contact through partnerships, like the one with Otolo, blends academic thinking with real world application, and mentoring, which enriches the learning journey for our students, and creates strong and creative professionals of the future.”
