Festive fun for the community thanks to student Ashlee
Date 3.12.2020
3.12.2020University of Northampton student, Ashlee Lewis-Earl, has launched a second festive community bingo game for the Far Cotton, Delapre and Briar Hill communities.
Hot on the heels of her Halloween bingo success, final year Psychology student, Ashlee, has created a festive Santa bingo trail.
Ashlee said: “I had a fantastic response to the Halloween bingo trail, and within hours of that ending, I had been persuaded to get planning for a Christmas themed event.”
With Christmas looking very different for many this year, Ashlee wanted to create a fun, free, and COVID safe festive activity.
Ashlee continued: “For this festive bingo game, Santa’s elves have been running riot in the workshop, and have scattered Christmas must-have toys around Far Cotton, Delapre and Briar Hill. I already have over 60 households who will be displaying pictures of the lost toys, for young and old to mark off on their bingo sheets during December.”
Households will display festive images in their windows, along with their Christmas decorations, for all to see until 19 December. Residents are encouraged to wrap up warm and get outdoors, to explore the area and tick off the toys the find, to help Santa, and Ashlee, save Christmas!
On Saturday 19 December, the final day of the bingo game, Ashlee hopes that families from the area will make an extra effort to join together, in a socially distanced way, and help with a giant elf hunt in the area too.
You can see the maps of the areas taking part on the Facebook Group. If you want to take part, join the Facebook Group, or email Ashlee to register your household, or receive a downloadable bingo card. All households and bingo players are encouraged to check the Gov.uk website and make themselves familiar with, and adhere to the coronavirus restrictions.
