Find out about Waterside campus, explore the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and see how we’re helping county residents

28.04.2016The public can find out more about the University of Northampton at a special event being held in the town centre.
The University will be hosting an information afternoon, on Wednesday 11 May, at the Guildhall.
Visitors will be able to find out more about the University’s Waterside campus, which is due to open in September 2018, and chat to current students.
Games Art students’ stunning 3D virtual reality model of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon will also be on show, ahead of it moving to the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities later this year.
A photographic exhibition, meanwhile, will provide an insight into the research projects being conducted at the University.
There will also be the opportunity to learn more about how the University is committed to making a positive social impact on the people of Northamptonshire, by setting itself four ambitious challenges to meet by 2020.
These ‘Changemaker+ Challenges’ aim to:
- help Northamptonshire become the best county in the UK for children and young people to flourish and learn
- make Northamptonshire the leading county for health and wellbeing
- build the county’s cultural and heritage traditions into world-class attractions
- make Northamptonshire the best county to start, build and run a business.
Professor Simon Denny, Director of Research, Impact and Enterprise at the University, said: “We are looking forward to bringing the University to the town centre for this event, which will offer people the chance to find out more about what we do, and how we have a positive impact on the residents of Northampton and the wider county.”
The event, which is open to all, and includes free refreshment, takes place between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesday 11 May, at the Guildhall, St Giles Street, Northampton.
