Date 18.12.2015
18.12.2015Amy Hampson, a recent graduate from the University of Northampton, has joined the Northamptonshire Growth Hub (NGH) team through Unitemps, the University of Northampton’s own in-house temporary recruitment agency.
Amy studied BA (Hons) Events Management and graduated in July 2015. Amy is currently undertaking a three-month internship with the NGH. The internship is part funded by Santander and part-funded by the University of Northampton. The scheme offers internship opportunities which are three months full-time or six months part-time, allowing students to work alongside their academic studies.
Amy commented: “I would recommend any graduate to undertake an internship. I have already learnt so much. Attending business meetings has helped me improve my networking skills and confidence, and I have gained a professional mentor who has provided me with a lot of valuable advice.
“I recommend all graduates to look at what opportunities are out there. Internships provide short-term work experience which helps graduates gain valuable experience and build their confidence and professional networks.”
Janette Pallas, Manager of the Northamptonshire Growth Hub commented: “Recruiting an intern with experience in events management has helped us to organise and structure the events which we run. She has also helped refine some of our marketing materials with a fresh eye. I have recruited a number of interns over recent years. All have brought positive benefits to the business and most have gone on to full time employment within the same organisation.”
