As part of his PhD at UON, Jamie Wildman undertook a review of museum specimens of the Chequered Skipper butterfly, previously extinct in England. This resulted in the number of collated historical records rising from 266 to 3,715, as reported by the Butterfly Conservation website.
The BAFTA Film Awards were held last weekend and summing up the event and the winners to BBC Radio Northampton was Dr Anthony Stepniak, Senior Lecturer in Media & Cultural Theory. Listen again (starts at at 1hr and 57mins)
Planned apprenticeships at the University were officially announced last week, following the national awareness and celebration week, as reported by the Chronicle & Echo and the Northants Telegraph.

A ‘game changing’ deposit return recycling scheme – the county’s first – is set to be installed at Waterside Campus, part of a collaboration with local environmental group The Northants Litter Wombles and reported by the Northampton Chronicle & Echo.
