A round up of mentions of our students, staff and the University over the past week.

University academics will join a new series of health and wellbeing podcasts from BBC Radio Northampton. First up to discuss what health is with presenter Akylah Rodriguez (pictured) were Senior Lecturer in Psychology Alasdair Gordon-Finlayson, Professor of Sports Medicine Bill Ribbans and mental health nursing lecturer Bianca Harris. Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Theory Anthony Stepniak gave a ‘lesson to listeners’ as part of BBC Radio Northampton’s ‘Sunday School’. He covered how cultural theory supports students on practical media courses at the University and social identities and how we identify and understand ourselves. UON teams will be out in force at Royal & Derngate next month, supporting BBC Radio Northampton’s mental health awareness event Headfest, as reported by the Chronicle and Echo.

The Growth for Good project, launched last summer by the North Northamptonshire Social Enterprise (NNSE) network, has helped not-for-profit organisations with digital, marketing and media support. Changemaker Coordinator Kate Robinson gave her comments about Growth for Good to the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.

The next Growth Curve masterclasses for business leaders at the University are reported by Northants Chamber. They will be on 2 May, to help them develop right strategies to stabilise their companies, plan their objectives and new initiatives and ensure they’re in the best position to grow.

The University received high praise from an environmental campaigner for its ecology work on campus when he spoke with BBC Radio Northampton, part of the BBC’s Get into Nature campaign.
