A round up of mentions of our students, staff and the University over the past week.

Our new Chief Operating Officer Becky Bradshaw Spoke with BBC Radio Northampton’s Tim Wheeler about her role, supporting students during Covid and even had time to do his Pop Quiz. Listen again here (clip expired).

For International Women’s Day, PhD student Corrinne Gretton-West spoke to the Chronicle and Echo about using a Victorian photography technique to capture and celebrate the women in our community.

Students from the University’s Events and Tourism Management degree spoke with the Chronicle and Echo about a film screening they have organised to raise cash for the Hope Centre.

Following the latest Westminster scandal – former Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s Whatsapp messages being published – Senior Lecturer in Journalism Kate Ironside gave her analysis to BBC Radio Northampton. Listen again here (clip expired).

Kate was back on the airwaves following criticism levelled at Gary Linekar for comments he made on Twitter about he Government’s immigration policy. She spoke with BBC Radio 5 Live (clip expired) and followed this by talking with BBC Radio 3 Counties.

A research project co-lead by University of Northampton to eliminate wasteful use of plastics in the food industry was mentioned in several African media outlets, including Africa Global Village and the Ghana Guardian.

Senior Lecturer in Molecular Bioscience Dr Alexandra Woodacre spoke to Heart FM about being a female scientist and a STEM Ambassador (listen again links not available).
