Legal eagles teach students the law of the land

Legal experts from some of the UK’s leading brands put students through their paces in a recent careers workshop.

Organised by the University of Northampton’s Changemaker Hub, the Career in Law Programme offered Law students an opportunity to get advice from some of the best in the business.

Senior legal minds from Avon, Shoosmiths, and local law firm EMW Law LLP shared their career experiences since they graduated, and ran through mock interviews and speed CV checking with students.

Jo Finn, senior legal counsel at Avon and one of the expert speakers on the day, said: “It’s great to be able to give something back to students. When I was in their position I know I would’ve loved to hear from people who have gone through what I have been through in my career. To hear how they did it and to pick up some tips.

“It’s really important that Avon works in partnership with the University of Northampton. It enables us to build a close relationship and share knowledge and experience with students along the way – so that when promising talent comes through we can get the pick of the crop.”
