Logistics graduates have an even brighter future thanks to course accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply

The career prospects of students graduating from the University of Northampton’s International Logistics Master’s degree have been given a boost after the course was accredited by a global professional body.

Accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) – the leading global organisation serving the procurement and supply profession – means the course has been recognised as one which drives leading-edge thinking and professionalism in procurement and supply management.

Charlotte Payne, Head of Academic Partnerships at CIPS, said: “Our accreditation provides an independent evaluation of a programme’s suitability to meet the demands procurement and supply professionals will face now and in the future.

“We congratulate the University of Northampton for the accreditation and we’re looking forward to hearing about the success of students completing their degrees.”

The accreditation will allow students to apply for full membership grade of CIPS and use the designatory letters, MCIPS, within five years of graduation. MCIPS is the globally-recognised standard for procurement professionals.

According to the 2016 CIPS/Hays  salary Survey, procurement and supply management professionals with MCIPS can expect to earn up to 29 per cent more that their non-MCIPS colleagues*.
