Property Week judges are impressed with University of Northampton halls of residence

Date 18.12.2020

Student halls of residence at the University of Northampton have been highly commended in a national awards scheme.

The Student Village accommodation at Waterside Campus, which opened in September 2018, was highly commended in Property Week’s Student Accommodation Awards.

Property Week judges praised the halls as “truly transformational for the University in terms of both campus and accommodation offer” while recognising rent provides good value for students, who also benefit from high-quality facilities, including social and amenity spaces.

The Student Village comprises four blocks of flats, plus a tree-lined boulevard of four-storey townhouses. With just under 1,000 bedrooms, the residences include a mix of small and large en-suite rooms, studios and non-en-suite rooms. Accessible rooms are also available, with accessible en-suite facilities including walk-in showers, hand basins and toilets.

Positive student feedback on the accommodation and the overall campus has contributed to a higher ranking in the Times Good University Guide, with student satisfaction ratings improving.
