Student Youtube series House 27 launches season finale
Date 3.12.2020
3.12.2020Student drama series House 27 dropped their explosive season finale on Tuesday 1 December.
Back in March, when filming was forced to halt due to the outbreak of COVID-19, House 27 viewers were left wondering if Jason had a new love interest, TJ and Junior were struggling to settle in and Ayo was on a personal journey to find himself. Nine months, and one pandemic later, the House 27 cast and crew picked up the story for their explosive season finale.
We caught up with Producer of the series, Kas Aisagbonhi to find out how the House 27 Team have used lockdown and take a sneak peek at what’s next for the series and characters.
When we first interviewed the cast in February one of the main challenges they faced was filming around everyone’s study commitments. Then came COVID-19 and the national lockdowns: “We basically had to stop filming when lockdown was announced, even when restrictions were eased we’ve still been unable to film. Our film crew, a couple of actors and a director is more than six people so we haven’t been able to do this, now with lockdown two, filming is off the cards for a while.”
Fortunately, lockdown hasn’t completely put things on hold for the House 27 Team: “We’ve had plenty of time for scriptwriting and coming up with new ideas as well as editing existing footage for the future. We’ve also moved student house so have been experimenting with the new location for scenes and planning filming for when we eventually can again.”
And what does Season 2 look like for House 27’s characters? The Team are keeping that very secret: “We don’t want to give too much away, but there are some big changes coming for some of the characters: Season 2 might not be as rosy as the first.” See if you can piece anything together from these stills of the Finale.
With some of the cast and crew completing their studies and graduating from University, there may be opportunities for budding student actors and cinematographers to get involved with House 27, once it is safe for everyone to reunite, so keep an eye on their website and social channels.
