University wins a Student Money Advice Award for collaborative work with Northampton Citizens Advice Bureau
Date 13.11.2015
13.11.2015The University of Northampton is pleased to announce that its Financial Guidance Team has won the Best Partnership award for its collaborative work with Northampton Citizens Advice Bureau at this year’s Student Money Advice Awards.
Organised by the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA), the awards were open to all advisers and fund administrators registered as a 2012-13 NASMA member, working to support further and higher education students in the UK.
The partnership between the University of Northampton’s Financial Guidance Team and Northampton Citizens Advice Bureau was established to provide an on-campus information, advice and guidance service specifically for students. The aim was to provide both a drop-in service for quick queries and a bookable appointment facility for more complex debt and benefit issues; both of which encourage engagement with the students, allowing them to choose the service which best meets their needs. This partnership also complements the high level of support available from a wide range of teams within Student Services.
Katy Bradshaw, Financial Guidance Team Leader at the University of Northampton, commented: “I would like to thank both my team and the Citizens Advice Bureau staff for their efforts in supporting each other in their work, as well as supporting students over the academic year. We have offered a great service to students at the University of Northampton and I look forward to this successful relationship continuing in the future.”
The winners were announced at a gala dinner at the NASMA Annual Professional Development Event on Tuesday 25 June in Bristol.
